A typing race with horses

Gallop is a free online typing game. Five riders line up at the gate and everyone types the same passage. Every correct letter moves your horse down the track, and the faster you type, the faster its legs gallop.

How a race works

Press Find a race and you join other players searching at the same time. Real players always take the gates first. Any gate still empty after eight seconds is filled by a bot, clearly labelled, so a race always starts. After a short countdown, type the highlighted letter. A wrong key turns it red; press the right key to keep running.

How is typing speed measured?

Words per minute (WPM) counts five characters as one word. Your time and speed are measured on the server, so every result on the board is fair. Accuracy shows how many of your key presses were correct.

Do I need an account?

No. Pick a horse, optionally type a name, and race. Gallop runs in the browser on desktop and mobile.
