About Gallop

Gallop is a free typing race you play in the browser. Five riders line up at the gate, everyone types the same passage, and every correct letter moves your horse down the track. Type faster and your horse's legs gallop faster too.

Why we built it

Typing practice works best when it is short, frequent, and a little bit competitive. A race against other people gives you a reason to come back for one more round, and every round is a minute of focused practice. Gallop keeps the rules simple: no accounts, no downloads, just pick a horse and race.

Fair races

Real players always take the gates first. If a gate is still empty after eight seconds, a bot takes it so the race can start, and bots are always labelled as bots. Finish times and speeds are measured on our server, not in your browser, and inputs that are faster than any human can type are ignored.
